harrison beck

I don't think we should use him like Chase Daniels. If I remember correctly, Mizzou lost all of their momentum when he went into the game. I wouldn't mind seeing Beck in the game in the first half, but not at the expense of killing momentum.
Yeah, like when Daniel was put in going against us and he was sacked like 3 straight times...what good does that do? Left him looking like this...

It's good to see him getting serious he needs to!!! I hope he does get some playing time and hopefully it's after we get a big lead not Zac getting hurt!!!! :o

I'm pretty sure that the weight he lost was mostly a beer belly. An ex-co-worker of mine used to buy him alcohol all the time last summer. He said one friday he bought him a bottle of vodka, then the next night he wanted him to buy something else...so I'm kinda hoping with this maturity comes less partying and more focus on football and school.
that is definitely a maturity issue, being away from home for the first time andbeing able to do what he wants with out mom and dad finding out.

I know how I was my freshman year and the things that I did, and I am sure that there are many members of this board that did some of the same things. I was not the #2 QB for NU when I was a freshman though, so hopefully he now knows the important task that he has ahead of him and has gotten his head straight.

Sounds like he has

He was what 17 when he got here, he will be fine. I think the attitude of the team is they know they need a QB that is ready to step in and take control if Taylor goes down this year but next year Taylor is gone. NOW is the time to earn the job for next year.

GBR

the thing that impresses me about beck, and this is just given that he's seen the field... what, one time?... is that we haven't heard as much as a peep out of this kid.

no complaints. no whining. no "i'm gonna take my ball and go home if you don't play me now!" talk at all.

and our head coach hasn't had to chase him back home and ask him to come back to out program either.

*ahem*

what does this tell us about harrison?

my impression: he knows what he's got and he knows his time will come. in the meantime he's studying billy c.'s bible and watching how zac carries himself.

my prediction: when zac goes on to bigger and better things, huskers won't retrain a quarterback... they'll reload.

Hopefully that is what's going on and he is preparing for a big year next year. :horns2

Or maybe the exact opposite is true!!

yah, funny what just 24hrs will do,ain't it?

He hasn't really shown the "fight for the spot" attitude this far. If he is going to leave in this manner then good luck and good riddens. How can you come back to a team after just walking out because you think you should be the stater and haven't really proven anything. You would think the entire team would see you as a damn winer. I'm not sure he can gain the respect of the team at this point. Sorry for the rant, but, this boy is screwing the pooch. And mom really needs to stay off the phone if she can't controll her comments or just can't think far enough ahead to realize how damaging a few comments can be.

After reading what I have about Harrison, I hope he is ok, I just do not agree with what he is doing. And, I really hope he is ok. Who knows maybe he is in rehab or something beyond his control. It is too bad when, that is the best cenario I can think of. Somebody needs to step up, show some integrity and let people know what the story really is.

Just ranting, but, had too.
