Have Never understood what Coaches see in Ruud

I am not a coach nor do I pretend to be but whats with all the love Ruud gets? I have never understood it he is very slow and if he gets drafted will last about 6o days against the big boys. In fact all our line backers with the exception of Octavian look slow!

The only two guys on the defense who played well were Octavian and Potter ( showed some real hustle).

Give me 9 more of these guys and we would have a defense! Of course you need a coach but maybe one day Callahan will see the light and get rid of Coz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 
It's that and he refuses to stick a pad on anyone.....he works hard, he's a nice kid, comes from a nice family, but he's not a division 1 football player. He's a baby on the field. When will we see him square up and tackle someone on his own..???? Every tackle is from the side or him grabbing the ball carriers shirt.

You can tell he's not getting much love from the fans. Absent is the "Ruuuuuuuuud" yells after he tackles someone (or comes in late to the play) like his family predecessors used to get.

There is no reason this kid should not be on the field at every opportunity. Is NU playing the best athletes? If they are, Castille better be playing constantly. What a Husker. :bonez

I think you can add Dillard to the list of linebackers who have some wheels. Also, Murillo and Grixby played pretty well against USC. The one I wonder about is Barry Turner --- he seemed to have so much promise. I contend that he is too heavy to play into his strengths. Asante shows some intuition --- often in the right place, but then his tackling skills need work.

As for Suh --- what could he do? he was double teamed by a pair of 5 star players on every play. He had no chance. That said, Dixon should have stepped up.

I'm not sure I agree with that. USC for example. You wanna put an 18 year old kid against possibly 8 or more first or second rounders on defense? Some of those guys could be playing in the NFL right now IMO.

I'm not sure I agree with that. USC for example. You wanna put an 18 year old kid against possibly 8 or more first or second rounders on defense? Some of those guys could be playing in the NFL right now IMO.

I don't know if he got whooped. He got beat a few times, double-teamed quite a bit.

Don't get me wrong, he didn't play well but I'm not one for overstating.
