You've got to be joking! He went all the way to Gainesville to see what championship football is all about , when he and his son could have driven the 400 miles from Boulder to Lincoln to see the real deal! Waste not want not.

hell, Hawkins could spend a month down there and still not get it right. he tries to use his big mouth to motivate kids, but it doesn't work on the level he is on now.

 
Any bets on how long this guy lasts in boulder? I give him another year, maybe 2 if he wins more than 7 this year.

 
He is the best they can do. That job is a bottom feeder because of CU has a bad rep both the university and the teams fans.

 
Sounds like a good waste of budget money to me. The thing that makes Florida good is their talent. They didnt win because of any kind of system or coaching abilities.

 
CU spent a LOT of money on getting rid of Barnett and Hawkins is makinh quite a bit also, so I don't know if CU could get rid of him even if they wanted to.

 
Maybe he should of came along with his former player who decided to be a grad assistant at a program that knows what winning is about. Pretty sure he would of got a lot more out of that! I still think he has the ability to return that program to mediocrity.

 
Teams do this all the time, except I've never heard of a head coach doing it when presently part of a team. The head coaches always send assistants or GA coaches elsewhere to scope out the situation

 
CU cant really afford to fire him for about 4 more years. He could have a mental breakdown and get commited though, in which case it wont cost the university anything.

The north NEEDS 2 teams to step up and become respectable on the nation stage if we ever want to stop getting compared to the sunbelt. And as much as we hate them, CU and KSU are the only other teams in the north with any history of getting to powerhouse level.

 
Plain and simple he's an :asshat and will continue to drive that program into the toilet and nothing makes me happier than knowing that right now. :clap
