Heinrich Haarberg

Born N Bled Red

All-Conference
Not going to lie, I was pretty excited to see what Haarberg could do at tight end, thinking his speed could be an incredible mismatch. So far, I've been a bit disappointed. He's blocking well, but the times he gets the ball, he seems so slow. Maybe he just doesn't accelerate that quickly but has high end top speed, or has he just gotten that much slower? For reference, here are two of his runs showing him pulling away from everyone chasing him during his stint at QB.

I've said before that I feel sorry for Haarberg. He should've been moved to TE years ago, and by now he would've had a lot more experience at it. But we were stuck having to keep him at QB, and, well, this is his senior year...
Yeah, this is probably the main issue...he probably could have been a really good TE had he been practicing it for the last 4 years.

I'm a fan of HH. I still think he's going to come up big in one of our remaining games.

I imagine he aspires to play pro ball? Even though he's raw at TE I think he'll attract some interest from scouts.

By the way, Haarberg still has the best winning percentage as a starting QB for Nebraska than anyone since Armstrong.

Haarberg = 5-3 (.625)
Raiola = 11-7 (.611)

In some respects he was a victim of Jeff Sims epic melt down. If that guy could have avoided those crazy yips and just played QB at baseline GA Tech level, Haarberg may have been moved earlier and not had the pounding he took in the Rhule #1 year.

GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!

He’s definitely an unsung Husker hero.

I think he’s going to do alright in life
