Heisman is overrated an the best offensive player award, not the best player in the country award as we all learned yet again last year.Think he has a chance at the Heisman ?
:yeahHeisman is overrated an the best offensive player award, not the best player in the country award as we all learned yet again last year.Think he has a chance at the Heisman ?
so thus it is as relevant as winning the offensive MVP of the year award in my mind.
Martinez has the best shot at the Heisman on this Nebraska team. If we go undefeated and play in a national championship he will get all the credit. The more we win the more people will take notice. I wouldnt be surprised to see Robinson and Martinez in the running in November. Granted he would have to play lights out every week and break at least one for a TD each game. If he did that he would be highlighted every week and voters would notice it. Winning as a redshirt freshman is almost impossible, but Im not going to doubt T-Magic anymore. When Mark Ingram wasn't even the best player on his team last year, it's hard to have any respect for the Heisman anymore.
Helu won't win the Heisman and he won't even be in the running. Daniel Thomas has a better shot at it than Helu, if for no other fact than that KSU gives him the ball 20-25 times every game and he produces pretty good numbers every time. Helu will have a hard time beating Thomas for Big 12 First Team honors, let alone getting any Heisman hype.
I've seen an AP article with Martinez' name tossed into the Heisman race which has me  right now.
The kid has played three games against three weak defenses. I'm as excited about his potential as anyone, but let's wait until he dominates the entire schedule before we put him in the Heisman conversation. I think that's only reasonable.Martinez has the best shot at the Heisman on this Nebraska team. If we go undefeated and play in a national championship he will get all the credit.
