Hero Of The Underground

I have about 14 pages left. I do not know how the man survived. He is one lucky SOB. If I were his parents, I would kick his a$$ now that he is sober. I have really enjoy listening to him on the radio. He has really grown as a commentater. He knows some sports much better than others. Too bad he isn't downtown teaching the youngens about Husker "D". Could you imagine a pre gmae speech from him? Best chapter is the Game Day one... every sentence gives me fricking Goose bumps. A must read for any fan.
Agreed! He was a little painful to listen to when he first started and I thought his career would be a disastrous experiment. But he's blossomed and (not surprisingly) he knows the team. He knows how it's supposed to be. He understands what's wrong, where it needs to be fixed, and how to do it. His take on where we were last year was dead on. He's really turned into an asset to Lincoln radio.

So much so that I've missed him these last couple of days. And for anyone who doesn't know yet, JP, the ol' Double Nickel, is a daddy of a baby girl, born yesterday.

Just started reading this yesterday. I'm about 100 pages into it and I'm having trouble putting it down. It's tough knowing where this is going, those things are tough to read. But he comes through it - that's the key.

Same here, the day i got it i couldnt stop and eventually finished it the next day. It has been a long time since a book has kept my attention for an extended period. You dont want to put it down because i wanted to see what was going to happen next, which was shocking but im glad to see that he has turned it around.
