Historical "What Ifs" What if Tom didn't go for 2

No way in hell we win a conference title in 2008. That was the best year in Big XII history as far as I'm concerned.

Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and Missouri all ended that season ranked 4, 5, 12, 16, and 19 respectively.

 
Maybe we wouldn't have won it, but would we have contended? Technically we did split the division with Mizzou in that 1st year under Bo, you would assume we would have been better if 08 was their 2nd year.

09 could have gone a lot differently, which is really more important in Husker History.

 
Another What IF -- What if Tom took up the potential job offer at Colorado. Would the Big 8 have been all about Colorado and the Sooners, would the Big 8 become a one team Sooner league, or would it have been possible for NU to draw a big name coach, Bobbie Bowden before he went to FSU for example, and remain dominate as they were under Tom?

 
Honestly, I findnit hard to imagine Nebraska finding a good replacement for Tom if we successfully ran him off.
