Hockey fight starts 6 seconds into game

Anybody that follows hockey could tell you, this was cause from an earlier incident. Not too mention, wouldn't suprise me if it was a planned "action".

While I got a chuckle, it's still pretty classless. This is, along with other reasons, essentially why I stopped playing and following hockey.

C'mon man that's what makes Hockey great is the fights. Hockey is one sport that I would watch more if it was aired on TV more. Hockey is fast pace and there's never a hiring game to watch. Best time to watch Hockey is the playoffs that's when it gets exciting and enjoyable to watch.

I guess if you can't handle a physical game like Hockey I guess there's always Basketball or Tennis lol.

x1000 This is what Hockey is and always has been, long before anybody on here started playing or watching it. I'm pretty sure you should have known that going into it. To say that this is classless indicates to me you didn't play or watch the game very long. Hockey has always been my top sport, my family use to play almost every weekend, even had a cousin make it all the way to the Dallas Stars for awhile.

We have been Omaha Lancer season ticket holders since the Aksarben days and this exact scene has happened more then once.

If you want to watch more hockey see if you can ad the Versus channel or a Fox sports channel "ale carte" to your cable or dish. I have Dish Network and that's what I did. There is a game on pretty much every night.

I see what you're both saying, and totally respect where you're coming from, but I just don't understand legitimate violence on any level. Playing a physical sport is entirely different than meditated and focused assault of someone, even if it's in the context of a "hockey fight". I started playing the game when I was four years old without having a clue what I was getting into (I mean, I was four...), and my mom didn't really either because she was just happy to be able to encourage something I was actually really good at for once. I always complained about there being no checking in my child leagues growing up, because I enjoy playing physically and see no problem with that aspect of the game, but the fighting part only becomes prevalent a lot further down the road.

I do miss playing though. I got invited to a tryout for some junior national team when I was 15 (I think the guy tried hyping it up into a something a little more than what it was), but right around that time it just became too expensive of a sport for our family to be able to afford.

The Teddy bear toss for charity. Yeah, that's pretty cool. Since it was hockey, do you think any booze got smuggled in inside those Teddy bears? Ha ha!

That's cool, I didn't get to play much on an actual organized team for the same reasons. My dad farmed and we just didn't have the time or money. Hockey wasn't very big where I grew up so you had to drive a ways to join a team, my dream as a kid was to be a goalie for the U.S.A Hockey team, obviously that didn't pan out! My cousin that played for the stars had my uncle build him a rink on their farm so that is where we all got together and played. Only problem was one of our friends was about 400 pounds and they always put him at goalie! You literally had about the width of a puck on each side of him to try and get it through.
