Saturday's matchup with South Dakota State marks Nebraska's 100th all-time Homecoming game. The Huskers are hosting a non-conference opponent on Homecoming for the second straight season. From 1955 to 2008, the Huskers faced a conference opponent on Homecoming every season. In fact, only 11 of the Huskers' 99 all-time Homecoming games have come against non-conference foes. NU has a record of just 4-6-1 against non-conference Homecoming opponents, including a 55-0 shutout of Louisiana-Lafayette last season. Overall, the Huskers are an impressive 74-22-4 in Homecoming games.
Nebraska won 36 straight Homecoming games from 1969 to 2004. Since then, the Huskers have lost three of their last five Homecoming games.
