Great game by Maher!! But it wasn't a intense pressure game either. To trully be considered great you have to perform under pressure and in big games!! I hope he does and joins the list of great Husker kickers!

Good kickers come here to kick, the wind of nebraska has been said by former kickers to be the best to prepare in. It is heavy air and always windy. Walk on or not come here to kick and practice for two years it is going to be hard to beat people out.

As great as Henery was, it's hard to believe that I can confidently say that I don't think we'll miss him that much. I know it's only one game, but I think Maher will fill his shoes just fine.

that might be true, but i'll wait to see how clutch he is. henery had ice through his veins and never missed when it counted most.

Congrats to Brett Maher and our staff and program.

If anything, this bodes well for our recruiting of skill/special team positions in the future. While it's not in your face like a receiver or running back are, kickers are an integral part of a successful team. A school that understands that and has fans that cheer that will endear itself to the best kickers/punters in the land, and it can only make us better in the future.
