How Good Is Wake Forest?

I'm just curious what you guys think of Wake Forest... everyone seems to be afraid of this game but I think Wake Forest was just a average team in a weak ACC. I think the only good team in the ACC this year was Virginia Tech and they beat Wake pretty easily (27-6). Although it was a home game, when we played them in 05 we had no problems at all and they were supposed to have some good RBs and a fast defense. I personally think we will have no trouble going down there and beating them, and I think we will beat them pretty good.

So what do you guys think of them. We are clearly more talented then them in probably every posistion and they lost a couple guys to leaving early for the NFL.

 
In honesty I was afraid of them two years ago. This team plays way over it's head. Coaching, loyalty, goliath/david, I don't know what it is but they are for real. They will be ready to play when we hit the field. Many top programs have just gotten out of their stadium in the last couple of seconds. This year they had it all together, but I think they lose quite a bit.

That man can coach. It will be a battle, I would bet. It will not be won until late in the 4th quarter, no matter who wins.

 
The main reason they were so good this year was because of their Defense. But they are losing 7 defensive starters so I dont think they will be near as good. :restore

 
I don't know how good Wake will be next year. Every year we see some team exceed expectations just like Wake did this year. Sometimes, they faulter the next year, and some times they improve even more. Wake Forest's success next year will lay heavily on their upperclassman and if they have that desire to be even better. I don't think that we will have an easy time at WF but I think that we can pull out a victory if we can improve like everyone thinks that we can.

 
ACC had an off yaer with the noles and canes barely .500. their defense is what kept them in the games and made plays for them. with the 7 players leaving, Abbate that linbacker declared for the draft. We're gonna run all over them. hopefully we dont look ahead to the next week. USC!!!

 
I know they've got their QB back, but who knows how good they'll be. If we aren't careful though, this game could bite us in the arse, since we have USC the next week and could be looking ahead a little.

John Abbate declared for the draft and he was the heart and soul of their defense. They will still be a good team, but hard to account for that loss.

 
with our schedule next season, our guys can't afford to look ahead to ANY GAME.......if we are not careful we could lose 2 games with WF and USC killing our season early on......we have a lot of work to do on D.......

 
You know statistics are for losers.

But if you look at the Wake Forest game two years, we were beaten all over the field. Errors in specail teams and interceptions won that game for us. I do not believe we won a single stat, other than interceptions.

Like I said, go back and look at Wake Forest, for the last 5 years they have been very close to being a very sound program. 3 years ago they were 4-7 I think. But lost 5 games by a total 9 points and nomally on the final drive or seconds of the game.

This is a good coach. NO matter what he loses they will be in front of us till the very end. It will be one of the most physical games we play I would bet.

I think we win the game, but it is no gimme.

 
like i said, it will take a huge effort to avoid back to back losses against them and USC.......it will be a tough start with those 2 teams back to back........like i said, i am more worried about the D this year......

 
It will be a hard game but we should beat them. I dont know about you guys but this is the season where im not accepting any exceptions. I hope the team and coaches feel that way to because its time for us to return to a BCS bowl and most importantly :restore !!!! We have evry tool to beat them, there is no reason for a loss here. I hope we win big but we will have to play like a championship team.

They are returning 15 starters minus one... (John Abbate-Stud linebacker going to pros).

This team is going to be very tough to beat on the road.

I hate it they have improved since we last played them (Michigan too) and we kinda took a small step backwards or to the side. They were ranked ... we were not.

NU will need big road wins and take care of business at home next yr or the boo boirds may come out by season's end me thinks. Another 4 or 5 loss season will have more than a few not happy...
