How Good Is Wake Forest?

Sug,

If you only look at wins and losses it could be tough a year. In honesty Wake Forest had the talent to beat us two years ago and probably should have., we just got the turn overs. We lost every single statistic in the game.

This is a very talent team and has been on the edge of pushing over for quite awhile. 2003 they lost 4 or 5 games by a combined total of 9 points I think. Most in the final drive or seconds.

I agree it will be a tough team to beat, and if we should fall short I will understand why. We as Nebraska fans seem to only see our team and not the improvement the opponent has made. We have two very tough games next year with Wake Forest and SC. Both will rated higher and favored. No real reason to expect to win those games other than being a Nebraska fan. I think we could win both, but if we play close and lose both it will not be the end of the world. My guess most will not expect Nebraska to win, just Nebraska fans.

Well as a Nebraska fan I expect us to win those games then skersfan  We have a tough schedule next year, but I'm not going to use that as an excuse if we start losing a bunch of games next year. We have to beat the best to get back up near the top. I think it's time for us to get back up there with the bigdogs again and return our name of the NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS to where it's supposed to be. In the worst place possible for the opposing teams.....................FEAR!!!

Good points Sker...

I also think playing us at home helped them get better too. Going into that season I don't think they were getting a lot of love from the pundits. This season, they kind of had the season we had last yr in terms of improving. Had they won thier bowl game they would be flying high going in to the spring game. Now they have incentives to improve because they will hate how they finished as will Nebraska too.

Husker fans are difficult to follow I think. If we lose to WF it won't be a big thing unless we lose futher down the line a few times. Then it will be a issue to many. If we can win those games on the road next yr... each one will be a big boost to the squad. We are so at a crossroads right now.

How good will their secondary be? Will it be the 'coming out party' for Keller that puts us in the news prior to the Trojans coming to town.

This past season Wake Forest got it done. Or did they? Their schedule favored them through the first 8 games (7-1) before a good win over Boston College. Then it's a pathetic FSU (W), a decent but not great VaTech (L), etc, etc.

There really isnt much separation between teams "ranked" 15 - 40. Nebraska is in that group. We go on the road to play them, and we havent had much success on the road.

This below doesnt impress me. But it might for others.

i read everyones points and think about them and respect them but the bottom line is this.

IT IS FREAKING WAKE FOREST, WE ARE NEBRASKA, HERE THERE ANYWHERE A LOSS TO THEM IS UNACCEPTABLE, PERIOD

I CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE ARE MAKING EXCUSES ALREADY, IF WE LOSE TO THEM THE SEASON IS A WASTE, WE HAVE THE TALENT TO GO WITH ONE LOSS TO USC, AND WE COULD POSSIBLY BEAT THEM.

LOSING TO WAKE FOREST IS NOT AN OPTION IN A GREAT YEAR, A GOOD YEAR, AN AVERAGE YEAR, OR A DOWN YEAR PERIOD

GAWD I CANT BELIEVE THIS TOPIC IS EVEN ON HERE

Well Travis...

I thought the same thing when we played OSU this season too. I know it was on the road but it was OSU for Christ's sake. We just don't lose to OSU often. But we did.

The thing about WF is they won games they used to lose annually. That made them a major player in thier conference. You can't take them lightly. They made great progress since we last seen them while its arguable on the progress made by the Huskers since we last seen them. They will know what to expect from us (as so should we) and both teams could possibly be ranked going into that game. It will be huge to come out victorious. Lets don't forget they finished some 8-9 places in the rankings ahead of us this year.

Hey go south a couple of states and tell Oklahoma WE ARE FREAKING OKLAHOMA. Teams get better.

This crap team as you guys seem to think, beat 3 top 25 teams. How many did we beat, how many in the last 7 years have we beaten?

The attitude of WE ARE NEBRASKA GOT OUR PAST COACH FIRED. IT PUT US IN THE TOILET. It it time to forget that crap and play the games.

I would guess in the last 6-7 years Wake Forest's record is very close to ours.

RESPECT! Try it, you just might like it. And then you just might begin to understand college football.

amen........

i really dont know how good WF is going to be next year. The ACC was pathetically weak this year (UM and FSU really sucked).

i do not know how well NU would have faired but i would like to think that NU could have won the ACC this year.
