Yeah, tall lineman with long arms won't have as many reps. And that is why the BP reps is about as useful for O-linemen as the 40 yd dash is for RBs. Sure you want an O-lineman who is strong, but you also want a long wingspan to keep guys off. Not some squatty lineman with short stout arms who can pump out 30+ BPs.This is something that is discussed on weight rooms all the time. Idk if I believe it or not. However, it is true that they must lift the weight at larger distances. I don't want to get all physics on you, but the farther the distance the more force its going to take to move a mass. Momentum also plays a factor.Was he? I thought he was supposed to be just nuts aggressive. I don't remember if he had a reputation for being really strong or fast or whatever, mostly that he was bang up crazy.
Niles benched more than just a few OL at the combine too, he did have that rep as a physical freak.
I'm not sure about this by the way - do longer wingspans make it more difficult for some of these OL to put up reps compared to really strong, but smaller guys?
