How is the Keller situation different than Beck?

1) Keller is good enough to play in the League, he is a proven commodity. Not starting as a senior would seriously hamper his chances to play in the NFL. I would transfer too.

2) Koetter handled the situation horribly. I loved the "blind donkey" reference!

3) You shouldn't lose your position because of a legit injury. T.O. always felt that way, and I do too. Harrison Beck's injury, from all reports, was from him being lazy. Apparently the trainers even threw up their hands when it came to him.

4) Keller is a senior, and team captain. I don't have a problem with his' leaving. While I think he should stay at ASU and fulfill his commitment, ASU dropped the ball on their part. I understand that under the circumstances it would be better for him to leave, no matter where he goes. Starting like he did and showing what he did...he deserved better.

5) Beck hadn't proven anything. He wasn't a leader, he wasn't a hard worker (yes, I got this info second hand), and he wasn't tough. The third point I get from what his HS coach said.

Great post. He has proved himself in college football, not in high school. He put in all this time so he could be benched for an injury? I would leave to, because I would want to play.

well to me it is quite obvious what happened........the ASU coach caved in to cry baby Carpenter who was threatening to leave.....so Keller quite naturally wasn't going to sit on the bench his senior year when he was playing/practicing just as well as Carpenter........and so the coach went with the guy who had the most time left.......pretty chicken sh#t if you ask me.......Carpenter has obviously shown he is not a "team player"..........as long as the college coaches keep "feeding the monsters" this behavior will continue and become common place.....get used to it, college sports has turned into a pro type spectacul.......plenty of T.O.s in the making.....
