If DR puts up the numbers you mentioned before, that would help opening up the run game.
Yeah, we will see drop in QB rushing yards but hopefully that doesn't mean a drop in overall rushing yards.

If DR can hit open guys, teams will not stack the box.

They brought in two vet WR's

I think they were 2nd in the conference, in front of michigan, when it came to the most rush yards.  If they do that again, watch out.

secondary will be a question mark for sure.
The issue with rushing for Nebraska is that in terms of raw rushing yards, they did well. But it wasn't a particularly efficient play and they relied on the QB run game to move the ball.

Without the threat of a QB run, which I don't think Nebraska will want to do at all with Dylan, is how much they can get out of the traditional running game. Nebraska has been average to below average doing that.

I think you're correct, they've tried to address these problems by brining in an RB transfer from Oregon, and getting WR transfers from Texas and Wake Forest. They brought in an OL from Florida. They realized that these were problems. The question is if they'll be successful in integrating these players in ways that help the team.

I don't think the coaching staff on offense is particularly good, and I question their ability to both put players in positions to succeed and to call plays that are complimentary to one another and help the team win football games.

Lord knows last year was painful on offense.

Without even looking at PU's schedule, I know that 4.5 is a reach at best.

I have not looked at Iowa, do they somehow play NW and Illinois each twice like usual?

We play five of the bottom nine.  So hopefully we can take advantage of that.

We also play three schools right next to us.  So that will probably go a long way towards determining the success of the season.

Purdue is one of those teams that could see the year 2 average improvement of about 2 games and you not know it because the schedule is so tough. Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn St, Ohio St...and Wisconsin/Nebraska headline many most improved lists. Of the games that one would think they have a better chance of winning, 4 of them (Oregon St, Illinois, Mich St, Indiana) are on the road.

They do have vaunted Illinois St in their Hall of Fame game, but I think all of the inductees are punters.

What do you watch a lot of them if you have no clue about Iowa? You say this every year, and they go win 9 or 10 every year.
Well, each Saturday there are around 50 games on.  Iowa tends to not make the list of games that I am going to watch.

If they win 9-10 games every single year, that is news to me.  I do remember Hawkeye fans bragging that some lame CB they had was going to be a top 10 pick, which it appears did not happen.

Isn't he the lead singer of Slipknot?
See, I know who that is!

WAIT AND BLEED!

I am trying to think back to last season, since it is the most recent and with the exception of the NU game vs Iowa, I can't remember one time where I was like "Hey, guys, quick, turn on that Iowa game"

I do remember watching a few plays of them getting worked over by PSU.
