How many of you guys have lost friends to marriage?

For the most part, we don't have a lot of singles that we hang out with anymore. Not by intent... but more just by who we have the most in common with anymore. We have two other couples, both with kids about the same age as ours, and the gettogethers tend to be a blast. But even with them, it's more on the level of once a month or once every two months, mainly because of schedules and affordability (budgets certainly play a factor for all of us).

My best friend from HS and I have kept in touch and go out every so often, but it had been about 2-2 & 1/2 years since we had the opportunity to get together until we did it just a couple weeks ago. He's getting married this summer, and I'll be in the wedding. I'll probably try and include them in some of our couple get-togethers. Interesting to see how our lives have changed over the years. And yet... the other couples we hang out with, I met three of them over 20 years ago. We've just stayed great friends over time, and that translated into our married lives. So it's more than just being married, I think... it's the familiarity of the people you're around as well, and being comfortable with them.

Don't guys get married so they can stop dating/going out?
right up to the point when they realize how much they loved being out where the action is and that you don't win the game by getting married you get relagated to the end of the bench.

Action?

I may have been a "lone wolf" most of the time, but to me the main reason for going "out" or 'specially to bars was to cull one from the herd..And in theory, once you found a female that didn't make too much fun of you and gave it up on a regular basis, there was no incentive to continue "going out".

"They" never tell you about the (giving up sex) part after you finish the wedding cake.
