How many wins does Bo need to keep his job?

If Taylor Martinez is out, our Freshman quarteback plays well, and our defense acheives some modest goals, like holding a few opponents to under 200 yards rushing, we can take two or three losses and Bo keeps his job. It needs to look like this team is fighting, and that something is improving. A bowl win would seal another year.

But the bigger issue is the bad mojo. Winning cures everything, but short of winning out this team needs to take the flavor of apathy and mediocrity out of everyone's mouth.

I don't thin Pelini can survive another outright embarrassment.
All of the above except for taking two or three losses. I think any more than one more loss is a tall order, but 7-5 under any circumstances might be too much to bear.

Agree with those saying it's not ONLY about wins and losses. However, I'll say less than 8 wins and he's out. 8-4 could go either way - really depends on who and how. 9 wins or better and he gets another year.

You mean there's still a chance he's the HC next year and the years after? Ohh boy.

He has to win this weekend. A loss and he is gone.

He can lose to Michigan, but it has to be close, no rout.

He has to beat Michigan State, to give us any hope we are going to improve under his leadership.

He has to beat a down trodden Penn State. A loss to an under talented/numbers team can not be accepted.

So he needs to go 4 of 5. But that number will be very hard for them to do, with the attitude on display.

On the other side, if he should lose to the teams I have him needing to win, but keeps it competitive, the team plays like it has direction, determination, desire and gives a sense of coming around to what some say they are capable of, he could keep his job.

Just play like it is important, every snap.

He needs to beat Iowa, that is bragging rights to the area.
he will lose 2 or 3 of the remaining games.

Unfortunately I think he can only lose @ Michigan. Any more or any other opponent and I think hes out. Sorry to say it cause I like the guy.

the weak schedule may be the only thing that saves his a$$........but another season of bungled coaching and poor line play will have us right back here next season, thoroughly disappointed...

I agree with the one loss. But hoping that he can get it squared away. I really do not want to start over again. But if we do, Nebraska has to get a qualified/experienced coach that brings in qualified assistants. No more Newbies.

I still think he needs to make it to Indy and there is no excuse with this schedule. If he loses 3 out of the next 5 he's gone IMO.

The thing that worries me the most is I do not think Minnesota can beat any of those teams on our remaining schedule.

What did Tom say to Bill about wins and losses ? I think it was 6-6 your out 7-5 was border line and 8-4 you were safe. Maybe someone remembers the correct wording TO used.

With no blowout losses or losses to unranked teams, I don't think he'll have much trouble keeping his job.
