how much does being at home help

i am wondering what you all think about the USC game being at home helping the huskers out. i think it will be very helpful if all the people, including the blue hairs on the east side, keep the noise up and let them feel husker power. i am wondering if BC will be more willing to go for it this time beings it is at home in front of the fans. What do you all think..
Being at home is HUGE! One of the toughest places to play. With special teams (ok, let's say place kicking), USC is going to have to start DEEP in it's own territory every drive so they are really going to have to work for their points! As with BC, He went for it last year in my opinion (alot of people don't think so, but hey, my opinion), this year though, he'll throw everything he has at them, thick playbook and alot will be left on the field at the end of the battle.

GO BIG RED :bonez

Considering 9 of the 15 losses BC has sustained have been on the road, I would say any game at home is a huge advantage. NU hasn't played particularly well on the road during the BC era, so anytime we get a home game we're in much better shape than playing on the road whether it be USC or Nevada we'll play better at home.

We as fans are looking forward to the SC game, but i can guarantee you that the team isn't
Yep. Don't overlook Wake, but it's hard for fans not to!! I can't wait to see NU and USC get it on in Lincoln. I think Nebraska can beat them!

:cheers

unless someone here is somehow linked to the team, I see no problem with FANS overlooking wake. its not like we have any effect on the outcome of the game

It is the only chance we have to win. And Callahan didn't "go for it" last year.

I think he will let's all the tricks out of the bag and really impress me with his play calling. I believe this will be his first true unveiling of the WCO against a tough team.

Wake F, first........................................................................................Then USC

GBR!!!
Yes, we play WF this week. And I'm sure Coach Callahan will have the team ready for the deacons. The team won't be looking ahead. But we as fans can. The USC game is huge and it's only 11 days away. :)

I really hope it is loud... especially on USC 3rd downs! I think it's huge. I almost wanted this game to be in the afternoon so SC would have to deal with the humidity, too.

Last year, I thought Bill's gameplan was good. Mo still didn't have his feet yet and no Bowman. Arkansas tried to turn their game into a track meet and got smoked. I thought Bill was confident in our O-line because he worked them hard in camp last year. This year, the O-line is A LOT better.

Plus, I think the turning point last year was when Lucky fumbled at about our 42 when we were down 14-3. Or was it 7-3? We were holding our own somewhat - then a quick drive that ended with a turnover giving them a short field. Of course, turning that into points killed ALL our momentum.

If we stop the run and can knock Booty around a bit - we'll have a chance. I think Dwayne Jarrett made Booty look betterr than he really was. Turner is about a mile high, and so is #7.

I agree with General. Home field is worth about 10 points eventhough in Vegas it is technically 3 pts. The excitement at Memorial will elevate this team quite a bit. The biggest key will be making sure we don't make early mistakes and quiet the crowd.
