If N went 3-9 and then the next year players came out saying the coach held them in practices way past NCAA guidelines would you think:

1. "Good!! as bad as you suck I hope he is keeping you longer!!"

2. "That's against the rules!!! He better stop that!! We'll get in trouble with the NCAA and lose schollys"

3. "He better stop that cause when will these kids find time to study and do homework?"

4. "They better find who told and get them off the team!"

The Rich Rod experiment just reeks of Callahan era husker ball.

I feel bad for fans of Michigan and Tennessee when we hear stuff about their programs like this. Even Notre Dame fans don't deserve to have their program trashed like this.

There are some pillars of college football that I'd like to see people never mess with. Oklahoma is another. Yeah, it exorcised some demons when we pummeled them a couple of times in the 90s, but each time there was something lacking. Oklahoma Fan didn't deserve to go through the mess they went through in the 90s, just like Nebraska Fan didn't deserve the Callahan Era.

No matter what team you root for, when icons like Michigan go through a period like this, it's a bad thing. It's bad for college football.

I wouldn't pick any of those 4. If I was a player I would just transfer out because practicing, studying film, and lifting isn't something you should do 11 hours a day.

The problem I have with this is Rich Rod is denying it. He needs to be a man and step up and say that he did it.

If you were a fan you would.......

(yes, I too think he lied on camera today)

Rodriguez is the wrong guy for the program. when you can't get your kids to buy in to the program and they turn against you, you are screwed...Michigan is screwed.

It wouldn't surprise me if he did have them doing that. This day and age of win now or get out, is causing a lot of coaches to do things they never would have done. I know Bo did it in his first year, but he didn't try to change the program around like BC or Rodriguez, with out the players in house, to do it with. The pressure to win, has to be just as tough at Mich as any big time program. I am not a Rodriguez fan by any means, but I can see why he did it, if he did.

And no, its not right...

GBR!!!
