Husker Baseball Recruiting Thread

Rich Fisher (WR coach) is pretty pumped about something on Twitter... maybe he got a call tonight..?

Looks like we have a good shot at keeping this recruiting class intact...

Draft outlook as a 2nd rounder. Since he went in the 3rd, I would think it is well below 40%.

Chances of Signing: 60 percent

Reetz is perceived to have a strong commitment to the University of Nebraska, where he’ll likely have the opportunity to serve as a two-way player for the Cornhuskers.

Erstad must be pulling some strings with old MLB contacts to get such favorable draft results every year

I'm a Nationals fan, and I don't know why they drafted a Catcher in Reetz. We have two young catchers who are okay.
Catcher is a position that is hard the body. He can hit for average & has decent speed. If he develops more power, he could move to the OF. Also the kid was a closer in HS and can throw low 90s.

he pry is not projected as a catcher in the MLB. I certainly hope he comes but the last 5 years have shown that top 100 sign... 4% have not each year... small percentage... but a possibility. we can def hope for 5 weeks

Nebraska baseball signee Jake Meyers struck out 20 batters in a seven-inning no-hitter to lead his legion team to an 11-0 win over Associated Fire Protection (Papillion-La Vista South) Tuesday night.

Rob Ramsey had four hits and five RBIs for KB Building Services (Omaha Westside). Will Patterson also added four hits in support of Meyers, who signed a letter of intent to play at NU in November.

Meyers, a 6-foot-1 left-hander, was the captain of The World-Herald's All-Nebraska baseball team after leading Omaha Westside to its second straight Class A title. He went 9-0 on the mound and recorded a 0.97 ERA this spring.
