Indiana should have steak and shake below White Castle.  Way more White Castles in the north and Steak and Shake was started by an IU graduate and Bloomington is South.  If you haven't had Portillo's in or around Chicago you need to.

Portillo's opened up in the Detroit metro a few years ago. It's ok. Pretty pricy for greasy fastfood. Hot dogs are definitely overrated and over priced. Itialan beef is solid though.

once they started opening chains I've notice I don't enjoy them as much.  But back in the day the original in Chicago was the s#!t.  I only ever get the beef sandwich and the hotdogs.  If I visit Chicago I either get Portillo's or Al's Beef.
