Husker felons....

I think people just like to try and use that as an argument when we talk about our winning tradition!!!! All of 'em are :asshat

lol, sorry....I didn't mean to stir this much up.

My roomate mostly does it just to give me crap. He really doesn't watch football that much, and when he does it's because I refuse to change the channel during Husker game days. So he's not anti-husker....he just knows one little thing about our past and likes to rub it in my face.

I was also curious as to the extent of it. As I only remember the wins of the 90's....I wasn't at the age to understand what antics were occurring off the field.

Live and learn I guess. I just hope we don't have stuff like this happening again.

All teams have guys that get into trouble, it's just the nature of having that many young guys together, usually some guys that get into trouble. The local media makes a big deal out of it, and at that time, the national media would because of NU'd success at the time.

My question. What does it matter what players we used?
well, we should strive to try and keep a respectable program.

Yes we all care about winning...but when people outside of Nebraska look at us, we don't want them to see that we don't care what the individual player does off the field. We shouldn't want players who go out rape, steal from, or beat up other human beings (espcially women. players that beat up women should have their a$$ kicked...and yes I know that's a double standard) just because they are good football players. It reflects poorly on the school.

Just as much as academics are important for a player to keep their position on the team...their actions as a person in our society should have the same if not MORE merit.

Playing football for Nebraska is privelage. Not a right.

You screw up, you lose that privelage.

It was Bear Bryant who once said that if you aren't having some players arrested every once in a while you aren't recruiting for a football team...

THUNDER COLLINS, thats a blast from the past, i forgot what he did, anyone know? I do like the Bear Bryant quote up there, i have a quote of my own but this seems like a fairly clean site so ill keep that one to myself. Thugs will be Thugs, but Thugs bring home golden trophys and awards, whether they win them or steal them, who cares

Benny, I think you seriously need to think of getting a new roommate as the best way to solve this problem!

It was Bear Bryant who once said that if you aren't having some players arrested every once in a while you aren't recruiting for a football team...

I like that quote. I mean, hell, I've been in jail in Lincoln three times and once it was when I wasn't even living there! It was in about '89 and I hadn't even been back to Lincoln for eight hours. I met my friend Pat Flynn from Schuyler at the Zoo Bar and one thing lead to another. Next thing ya know, we're both in jail. Getting arrested is sometimes just from having fun and a felony is just a little bit more than a misdemeanor. No big deal.

Trade in that damn roommate of yours for eaither a real man or real woman - nothing in between!
