Really good interview with Kade Warner

I saw it noted earlier this week that several members of this class were pretty significant contributors in the first game of their second year on campus.

Wan'Dale Robinson - was already a major contributor last year

Nick Henrich - got some decent playing time at OLB

Bryce Benhart - starting at RT

Ty Robinson - appears to be a beast on the DL

Luke McCaffrey - looking as good as advertised

Jahkeem Green - I was hoping for more but he's in the regular rotation

Ronald Thompkins - early leader for comeback player of the year

Dedrick Mills - solid starter

Quinton Newsome - in the rotation at CB

Garrett Nelson - In the regular rotation and making some plays

Ethan Piper - played more snaps than the guy who started at his position, probably starting in the near future

Travis Vokolek (transfer) - in the regular rotation at TE

Darrion Daniels (transfer, now in the NFL) - anchored the DL last year

Guys playing minor roles:

Rahmir Johnson - getting on the field some

Myles Farmer - in the mix in the defensive backfield

Garrett Snodgrass - probably not in the regular rotation but some some PT

Haven't seen much of the field yet:

Noa Pola-Gates - slowed by injuries but in the mix for playing time

Chris Hickman - hopefully not getting lost in the shuffle trying to find where he fits best

Jackson Hannah - thought he might be getting some looks by now

Mosai Newsom - got some mentions from coaches in the offseason

Jamin Graham - waiting to see

Javin Wright - Injured

Michael Lynn - has a ways to go

Brant Banks - Definitely in the next group on the OL

Matthew Anderson - work in progress

Jimmy Fritzsche - work in progress

Unfortunately ...

Darien Chase

Demariyon Houston

Jamie Nance

Kanawai Noa (transfer)

That's 13 guys who are already pretty major contributors plus 3 guys getting some snaps.  A lot of those guys were pretty major pieces last week.

Most of the guys who haven't seen the field yet have battled injuries or are linemen that need to develop.

We are obviously hurt by nearly completely whiffing on receivers - thankfully Wan'Dale is a stud.  If we can recover from that, this has the makings of a terrific class.

COMPLETELY agree.  And...what's very nice about this is that our highest rated players from that class tend to be toward the top of your list...meaning, their contributing and developing.

It's been a major problem in the program for way too long that these highly rated players don't pan out.
