Husker Legacy Statue - found the play it's based on

International Man of Mystery
Just cruising through a Husker highlights video from years past and saw the play the statue is based on. Check out the gang tackle of the hapless K-State running back at 1:24 in this video. Photo of the statue for reference below.

Nice find knapp. I remember having seen that before, but I could never find it when purposefully looking for it.

So that’s Grant Wistrom, Brian Shaw, Mike Minter, Jared Tomich and Michael Booker, right? Jason Peter was closer to the play than Booker, and could’ve been in the statue except he decided not to jump on the pile like Booker did. LOL

Cool. I have a pic of my son and I in front of the statue. Now I know where it came from I just emailed the video link to my KSU friend here at work. I told him KSU and NU are memorialized in the statue together - i didn't tell him that KSU got the bottom side of the pile.

Damn Lawrence Phillips was good! I know that's not the point here, and I'm not trying to derail the thread...but I watched the attached video...and DAMN HE WAS GOOD!

I remember that whole game. Was there with my old man. We were #1, they were top 10, and it wasn't close. The final score flattered them; most of their points were late.

Just once I'd like to do that to a good team again soon.
