Husker question on Rivals Mailbag

Is TM improving as much as is being reported elsewhere, inconsistencies aside?
I'm going to keep my Taylor opinions to myself, just for fear of a mob frenzy around here. :)

But I will say that Brion has made his case this spring and has made things interesting heading into the fall, if that means anything.

Don't elaborate or anything. However i'm not surprised one bit. If its true.

Heh, wow....we've got some supreme talent at qb. It will be soooooo nice to have two or more good qbs this year.

Do we have that one good qb that is durable enough to go the entire season, and do we have a good enough backup or backups, that the offense doesn't slow down much, when they are called on. Thought Cody would be a lot better than he has shown so far. As for the new qb's only live action will tell, whether or not they will be able to handle the pressure. The qb position will either be a strong point, or the one that keeps this team from being a real contender for a B1G title. The defense can't carry the load alone, and not sure Martinez can stay healthy all year. Cody really needs to step up his game now.

GBR!!!

Does anyone think Cody Green might switch positions if Brion passes him on the depth chart? We need depth at TE, and Cody still has a redshirt available. I don't think it's likely, but I'm curious what others think.

From what I'm seeing here it seems that Green may just be slipping away as far at the #2 or #3 spots. I guess it is good to see that competition is getting better and may end up with some much needed depth.

I wonder why this keeps coming up? What makes anyone think that Green would make a good TE? Size alone?

Green is athletic enough to play any number of positions on offense or defense, I think. But his growing skills as a QB are far too valuable to us. If last year has taught us anything, it's that we can't afford to not be 3-deep at this position.

If you want me to elaborate - Brion has been the most consistent QB of the bunch this spring. Now, I will say Brion has had his issues - but overall, passing AND running, he has been the best QB of the bunch.

No one get it twisted, Taylor is still the starter and will be going into the fall. But if Brion's progression continues, and Taylor himself doesn't progress like he should be at this point, only then may we have a situation on our hands.

But for now, just take it as Brion has turned quite a few heads with his play and the progression of his skills this spring.

I haven't watched a lot of the practice vids this year, but I happened to be in Lincoln the other day so went a little out of my way to pass by practice. I only saw a minute or two, but saw Taylor throw a few balls and thought his throwing motion looked less awkward than last year. I'm not a savy analyst of quarterback throwing motion, so I was wondering if anyone "smarter" than me has noticed anything?

I believe that Cody mentioned that he would be willing to switch to either TE or WR (can't remember which) prior to the spring. With T-Mart, Carnes, and Turner in the mix, all who are a better fit for what Bo wants to do, it makes sense. He seems like a great, ahtletic kid who is a great Husker, and just wants to get on the field. Gotta like Cody.

Ah. Yeah, love his attitude. I just think that we need him at QB.
