Husker Volleyball Recruiting Thread

Kind of interesting for as many Huskers the state has produced over the years and how the state gets talked up a lot, there haven't been very many Nebraska natives on the Husker's roster recently.

I forget which match it was, but I recall one tv broadcast they had a stat showing how many NE players were on D1 college rosters across the country and it was the most of any state or very high up in the rankings IIRC. Also looking at Crayton and the other lower tier colleges in state, they are all successful and have a high % of NE players. NU is just in a spot where they can opt to recruit the absolute cream of the crop nationally and they should. It is sort of similar to when Pete Carroll was at USC and they started recruiting nationally and not just relying on CA players, they expanded their footprint because they could and it paid off.

Yeah, I agree with all of that. But we used to have the cream of the crop right here (plus a decent amount from Iowa). But that number is dwindling and mostly down to setters and defensive specialists. Even Allick (who went to high school in Lincoln) isn't really a Nebraska native.

Nebraska HS volleyball just aren’t putting out OHs or Middles that are sure fire recruits. 2028 will be when our next instate OH/MB joins the Huskers.
