Huskers Add Former UCF Starting Safety Tre Neal As Grad Transfer

Notice what number Neal is wearing in the video The Dude just posted.

Notice what number Breon Dixon is wearing in this tweet from this afternoon.

Wonder who gets #23.

Sometimes players want to change numbers. Sometimes their jersey number may not matter to them. And then again sometimes it is very important to them. Just saying it's not always a big deal.

I checked the UCF thread again. Now someone has posted that Neal only got his interception against Memphis because of Griffin's pressure.

So I guess there should now be 2 interception stats they keep track of. Pressure interceptions and solo interceptions.

I guess someone should tell the person who posted that, "...Neal only got his interception against Memphis because of Griffin's pressure" is the entire point of playing defense.

Whatever helps them sleep better at night.  I kind of don't blame them for their attitudes, though.  Some things between the end of November to now are tough pills to swallow, so they have to find new ways to be optimistic.

I enjoy the prevailing narrative over there that UCF's dramatic turnaround had little to do with Frost.

If you can convince yourself of that, you can convince yourself of anything.

Heup's much better, has better pedigree, will go faster, have better schemes, etc etc.  I personally enjoy the "clown cars full of talent" comments.

Ditto. Heupel is better (unlikely). Shannon is better (possibly). 10 wins is the worst case scenario (not seeing it).

I don't think they'll be bad, but I think they have some tough mental aspects to overcome. Going undefeated then losing your coaches just doesn't sound very motivating for a good next season to me.
