Former Chardon State kicker Michael Ziola plans to be part of the 2011 Husker walk-on class, according to Scout.
The Columbus High graduate is hopeful to be part of the program by the summer, though he would have to sit out this fall after transferring.
Brett Maher and incoming freshman Mauro Bondi will compete for the kicking job this year.
As a redshirt freshman at Chadron State, Ziola was 18-of-22 in field goals and made all his extra-point attempts. He was 5-of-8 from beyond 40 yards with a long of 46.
