Not really Nebraska football related, but....

Watching the local Fox channel tonight recapping the Redskins preseason win over Tennessee, they were interviewing Al Saunders, assistant head coach for offense. Looked up only to be surprised to see him wearing a Nebraska polo with the Huskers script logo over what appeared to be a white ball of some type. Baseball? Volleyball? Softball? Nope!

A little research revealed the Nebraska connection... His daughter, Kori, played soccer 1999-2002, earning 2nd team Big XII honors in 2000 and 2001. Ah ha! It was a soccer ball!

Way to go Al and thanks for a little exposure here in D.C.!

 
He is one of the guys Stevie P. interviewed for the HC job after the Solich firing. He was the OC for the Chiefs before going to Washington.

 
He was offered the job but turned it down saying that at Nebraska

it is a lifetime job and he wants to stay in the NFL.
