Huskers in the 2025 NFL Draft

I’m glad to see Fidone do well.  I thought we could have used him better in our offense but the injuries were a challenge and his blocking was sub par.  At same time we didn’t seem to feature his strengths. Hopefully can reset in the NFL.

Prior to him testing well in the quickness drills I would have said I thought the knee injuries hurt his burst/explosiveness more than top end speed.  Seeing this, it's peculiar he never looked comfortable catching those arrow and shallow crossing routes and transitioning into being a runner & had issue creating separation at the top of his routes.

Doesn't help when there's an unblocked defender diving at your knees right as you try to turn upfield, but yeah. I expected a solid 40 time and jump numbers, but he looked better than I expected in the agility drills and just moving around. Satterfield and Haarberg/Raiola did him no favors - injuries will go down as the reason he didn't live up to the hype here, but for the last 2 years it was playcalling and QB play. Mostly 2023 on the QB play, but Raiola went through a midseason slump where he was missing open guys. How we had a 6'5 guy with 34" arms and good hands and just almost never bothered to target him in the red zone is beyond me.

He was probably not going 100 percent out of fear of getting injurred.

I know this is a thing, but my argument is that’s why most schools have sports psychologists to help get over that fear.

I remember after my first knee tear having the same issues when I was first coming back.

Ty now #50 overall on Mel Kiper's Big Board

#7 DT among a deep group
