But wait ... I thought our defensive line and season were hopelessly screwed after we lost two depth defensive line pieces to the portal???? You're telling me that the transfer portal has changed how we should think about player acquisitions and departures and we don't need to wildly overreact to marginal players leaving??? No way.

 
Big time get. My outlook was pretty bleak when Rogers and Riley left. Wasn’t sure of how we would hold up for an entire B1G schedule. I think we came out on the better end after adding the 2 DTs and Mathis. If OL can improve, even marginally and we can not suck in special teams we can win some games this year. Now let’s get Marcus Washington and then we can get to work. 

 
This defense is going to be interesting to watch with guys like Mathis, Wynn, Drew and Tommi Hill now on board.

Even with all these great portal additions some Husker fans still won't be happy bc of how they have put this team together. Yes I know they have to develop within the high school recruits that they bring on but I believe that's they are going to build this team from season to season. Bringing in 14 transfers is alot I hope all of them work out :)
