I've been reading a lot of some Huskers who get a day off here and there because they've been banged up a few times in practice....giving them some time to heal. I'm all fine by that, gotta keep everyone healthy.
But are these guys actually not coming to practice at all? Are they just staying home and watching TV....or are they still told they have to show up to practice and watch? I feel like they should at least be there to hear what's going on and what the coaches are saying.
Then again, I've never played football on a team...so maybe the injured have other things they are doing during their down time. But when I played soccer, if we were injured we still showed up to each practice to see what's going on. It could be they are already doing this and the newspapers are just wording it weird:
"Jackson missed Wednesday’s morning practice while he recovered from some bumps and bruises suffered in a scrimmage Tuesday."
