The verbatim call from the ref was, "Personal foul, defense #93, slamming the quarterback into the ground." It was the same movement he did on McCoy where he sent him sliding 4 yards, except it was straight down to the turf.

Wasn't that the game where it was raining like crazy and our boys beat the crap out of Mizzou?

Think that translates to "personal foul, being a man among boys"

I was at the 98 Texas game. Stupid Ricky Williams.
I was at that game too. Williams was awesome, but Solich lost that game when he started Monte Christo at QB instead of Crouch. The offense didn't do anything the first half and fell behind 10-0. NU came back in the 2nd half, but couldn't put Texas away, and they scored late in the 4th to win.

If only Mike Rucker was just a taaaaaaad bit faster.

I'm still mad about that game!!! It snapped NU's 47-game home winning streak. NU then ripped off over 20 in a row, only to be snapped by Texas again in 2002. Dang Longhorns.

I didnt think starting a 5th year senior Christo over Crouch was that big a deal. The week prior it was Crouch that was ineffective in the first half against Missouri, and Christo who led us to a pair of scores to win in the second half. QB was a total crapshoot that year. Just rolling with the hot hand. Plus I think Crouch was a little banged up here and there himself.

I understand Solich's thinking, but it was the wrong decision. Crouch was clearly the better QB, and should have started. Christo couldn't do a thing against Texas.
