As if that idiotic, large glass building right in the hitter's eye causing glare delays wasn't bad enough, we get raped on a balk call in Rice's last at-bat (bottom of the 8th) and lose 4-3. I hate Texas.
Like said last weekend, i'd be happy with 2-1, but with the sour way Rice finished, i really am not that happy, but oh well, 2-1 is 2-1. Our pitching was very good this weekend (with the exception of the wash time for the frosh in game 1 and Nesseth, blah). I really still think that Mariot will not find himself in the weekend rotation come conference time. Yost was good except for 1 inning, and Lemke was exceptional again. I really really like that kid. With the exception of the f'd balk call, Hauptman pitched well, and i still expect to see him there. Next weekend is going to be a real test of where we are. Even on the road, we should be able to compete. They already have huge wins against Long Beach State and Vandy, and a good win against USC. They have given up 14 runs in 6 games and put up 55 runs in those 6 games. Should be a good opportunity to see where we really are. I can't wait.
