I was not at the practice but I am going to post some updates that I have read elsewhere.
1. Lots of positives came out of the practice. One negative is the punt game. Brian has to be the #1 as Koch is not ready yet, so he needs to get it figured out. Luckily, it is one practice and it could have just been an off day. The bad news is he has a habit of being hot and cold- more toward the cold lately.
2. Dylan Raiola is going to be your starter. Henrich is behind him.
3. Danny K. threw some bad picks but has a good arm for a freshman and Jayln G. did okay from what I read.
4. True freshman RB Mekhai Nelson looks good for being here a year earlier than expected. The running back room is looking better and they all bring something to the table. I am going to credit the O-Line as well for allowing some holes for them to run through.
5. Banks and Neyor looked really good in practice. Expect Jalen Lloyd, Carter Nelson, Coleman, Bonner, Bullock, Barney, and IGC to compete for time behind them. From what I read, we have some dudes at that position. However, I think they play 7 of them along with Nelson getting his special position/hybrid role.
6. Apparently, the Defensive Back room has some solid players in the Miami freshmen duo of Larry Tarver Jr. and Amare Sanders. Jeremiah Charles looked good and M. Buford and Hartzong can play multiple spots. We also get Blye Hill back in a few weeks and don't forget the new CB transfer in Wright as well. Tommi Hill sat out for load management- so others were able to step up to the challenge.
7. Some minor injuries occurred but that usually happens at a football practice. However, Roger Gradney was carted off- hope he is doing well.
Please add anything that you saw if you went to the practice or anything you read that I missed.
Go Big Red! We have football this month!
