Huskers vs. PSU

WOW...what a match.

I thought we were dead to rights when down 2-0.

I would put money on that the Huskers just won the NC.

 
The scene in the ready room after the match. No huge emotions, no celebrations, just a calm talk about the next three matches.

There was a glaring and obvious body lango and swagger shift precisely at the point when Nebraska stopped a run and got it to 24-23 in the 3rd set. A spark where Nebraska exhaled and penn st said "sh#t, it's alive". The match really wasnt that close after that point to say the least. 4 in a row to steal the 3rd and dominated 4th and 5th.

in first two sets Nebraska looked like a team not quite ready for a street fight. Looked like a team that had been too good all year. it's every coaches nightmare. Penn st was dominating and playing with a high level of emotion. But champions die hard and Nebraska showed they were the tougher team, mentally and physically.

 
Pretty crazy how things can change. When we played Penn State about three weeks ago we completely took them apart. They were hitting barely above .000 for the match early in the third set.

Great job fighting back.

 
Penn State has some very talented players with huge size across that front. They outplayed NU in the first 2 sets, especially in the key points in the 20s. I can't believe NU saved 2 match points, but Rolfzien stepped up and got the game tied and then Foecke won the next 2 points for the NU win in set 3. After that, it was all NU. Great to see the ladies dig down and get through this match. NU may not see a team as talented as Penn State the rest of the way.

 
Penn State is a weird team. All the talent in the world but lacking that championship spark. Super tough team to play in the Sweet 16 because they've seen us twice before this year and they aren'scared by our team or our arena.

This was a big, big win. Maybe the toughest opponent we'll play all tournament.
