perhaps... I would like to see both put to rest permanently. I am beginning to understand the frustration of revisiting dead issues.

Q's, been dismissed. He's left Lincoln. He's enrolled at another school and they are probably happy as hell.

Its old news. Who ever started this thread obviously has Rip Van Winkle syndrome and just woke up.

lock this thread down and let's move on.

I understand that these are just rumors. But say the rumor that he did fail his 5th drug test. If you have a team rule against smoking marijuana and if you fail a drug test you will be kicked off the team, why did he receive 5 chances? Its not like they are testing for PED's where the person being tested couldve taken something that showed up that actually is ok so you have to re-test, this is marijuana its not hard to test for.

My point is though why 5 drug tests? Why 5 chances? Is it because he was going to play a key role for NU this year? I have also heard from people familiar with the Nebraska football program in the athletic department that players are also tipped off by paid NU personnel about drug tests. If that is true than why even test for drugs if your going to tip the players off?

I UNDERSTAND THESE ARE RUMORS but just going off the notion this is true

I know this is getting to be an old topic but that is the essence of a message board.. simply put, dont read the link..

To try and help answer why a person would be given 5 chances most college football teams have different levels for broken rules.. so the first couple drug tests would more then likely fall to the unity council or seniors for discipline.. and be disciplined in house that we would never hear about

Then after a certain point after repeated offenses (different to every team) it goes to the head coach to discipline. However, in this case 5 does seem extreme and that may be just a number that was added to the rumor. More likely if this was the case the number was must lower then 5.

I think that the number of 5 is also high that was my point. After one it should go to the unity council and be handled in house thats fine. After the second that was your second chance than you are gone if you fail the second drug test. Its not that difficult to figure out. 5 seems very arbitrary and unlikely because it is so high.

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe he had 5 drug tests over the course of a couple of days? I'd be very concerned and conduct several drug tests involving a player especially after the entire NASCAR fiasco.

After like 2 times wouldnt you know that its probably a positive test, maybe even 3 times. Why 5? Its not like you got some girl pregnant that you dont want to be with so you do a prgnancy test 5 times its a marijuana drug test! After like 2 maybe 3 tests the results dont lie.

How about the possibility that he failed a few under Callahan? Bo would have known that, however as a new coach he gives everyone a clean slate and says this is your new opportunity. Castille fails two more and is gone under Bo.
