I just don't understand...

It's simple guys. Texas won because of the "B****" factor. Everyone has this factor somewhere, it just means that there is one team that will almost always find a way to beat you regardless of how much better or worse they are. We are Texas' b****, the same as Penn State is Iowa's, the same as the Pete Carrol Trojans were Oregon State's, etc.

um Landlord you need to find better examples cause both of those are really bad. Just because one team wins like 2-4 years in a row doesn't mean that they own them. Carroll had a winning record against Oregon State and Iowa may have won lately but far from owning Penn St. It's nothing like us going 1-10 against texas in the Big 12.

Maybe the USC/OSU example was a stretch, but Penn State is 2-8 against Iowa (who has nearly always been a big underdog in this game) in their last ten meetings. Since 2005 (maybe before?), knapplc's KSU/UT example is a good one as well.
So if a team wins most of the time the last ten years then own them? Overall Penn St is 5-8 against Iowa since joining the Big Ten and they also don't play every year like us against texas. If you want ownage Texas is 75-35-6 against Texas A&M. KSU is bad too because it's less than 10 games which is not a good indicator.

If we were to START cody green and play texas this saturday we would win. That's it. Texas has cashed in their season. When we played them they hadn't gotten that far yet. We got their best effort of the season when they still had the drive to play hard.

T_O_B, haven't seen you post in a while. Good to see you still around, old timer :cheers

I agree. Pretty frustrating to see this Texas team getting their asses kicked week in and week out after we layed an egg against them.

hujan;

Oh, "lots" of people have problems with SW's play calling. He's a WCO guy to the core and simply doesn't understand anything to do with a power run game. That's why you so frequently see him throw the ball around (for a 3 & out) when we're in a 3rd & short situation even when it's glaringly obvious the opponent can't stop our run game.

That's also why this is his career....

He's not going to change but for some reason most NU fans just keep throwing out endless excuses for him. Oh well.....we'll just have to hope for the best.
My knock on Watson has never been play calling. If you execute, it's no big deal. My biggest knock has and always will be the execution aspect. His offenses, more often than not, get pushed around when they shouldn't. His offenses make bad mistakes when they shouldn't. His offensive lines look good at times and then look average at others.

It shouldn't matter what quarterback we have in there. We should still be able to push people off the ball and create holes for our running backs against below average defensive lines.

Well, my take on that is that it's because we're so "multiple"....a jack of all trades and a master of none. We desperately need an identity on offense. Something we can rely on when things get tough. Something we excel at. That's not going to happen with this guy though.

At some point Bo will have to address this one way or the other.
Let me pile on a bit. I've not been a huge fan of Watson and earlier today I was looking at our last game and this season and here is what I have decided. He is a average or solid coach who I would never want as a head coach. For me it comes down to this, he does not seem to be able to coach up his squad and make them better. He takes what his players give him. T-Mart has made him look good, as soon as the guy gets hurt it's back to last year. Joe Ganz made him look good. If he was a great coach we would have slowed down when the star was hurt but our offense dropped off the earth and went into hibernation. I want a coach who can do what Bo did with the D. Take almost the same players and turn them into machine in one or two years
