I miss Cy

Don't none of you worry about Cy. He's already over the weekend...nothing a night with a bottle of Jack and a bed full of one hell of an ugly woman won't fix...

When I saw Travis Ferguson run out of the tunnel straight into the goalposts I knew it was gonna be a looooong Saturday afternoon...I mean, if your freakin team gets lost in the tunnel before the game...you know you're gonna have problems. But I suppose smoke in the tunnel if just a cool metaphor for all the smoke Pollard has been blowing up everybodies a$$ about how good ISU's team will be this year....wonder what he'll come up with before A&M blows them out? My buddies and me are betting that he'll shoot the players onto the field out of a Civil War cannon...he should save the trouble and just put the cannon in at left guard...we need it.... <_<

Cmb, whatever whatever....did you have a good time at the game? Fan's weren't too obnoxious where you were, were they? Saw the marriage announcement after the first quarter. Usually the show a shot of the lucky girl up on the screen when they do that but didn't get it this time? Apparently he didn't want the world to see her shocked and dismayed expression or experience the joys of being rejected in front of 22 screaming fans? By the way...did she accept or no?

After that game was mercifully over, I had to drive back to DM for my kid's playoff game. Got there in time to watch him get a personal foul and then thrown out of the game for stomping on a kid's hand after the play was over.

"Boz...now why did you go and do that?"

"Heck Dad...it was just sticking out there. It NEEDED to be stomped on!"

Good boy...listening to his father like that. Anyway, they lost their game to, of all people, the AMES team. Stupid kids on that team were bigger than me. I'm pretty sure the schedules got messed up somewhere because it appeared that my kid's team was playing the ISU Cyclones and you guys were playing the 6th grade Ames Bears (who could probably beat the ISU Cyclones). So...his season is finally over (just like ISU's was after the Baylor game).

This week they are laying off loads of people at the plant where I work (not me of course...life couldn't be so kind... <_< ) so I've had to spend lots of my time helping people pack boxes full of years of memorabilia and momentos (and all the stuff they can steal) and move it out to their cars, giving encouraging words while thinking "Better you than me".... <_< My boss came into my office yesterday and told me our department was done cutting...which kind of pissed me off since if he is still there, apparently I don't get to be the boss...so now I can get my mind back onto important things...

 
Yes, Cy...had a blast. Stayed in Des Moines on Friday night (at one of the hotel's that I stayed at as a high-schooler going to state wrestling) and were up by 5am and on the road by 6am on Saturday. We were in the parking lot before 7....and just so happened to be an arrant Joe Ganz pass away from her cousin's tailgate (in lot B-4). There, all of the friends and family congregated for pre-game festivities and somehow...the secret proposal never came out. We went back out to tailgate at halftime...and...well...stayed there until about 4pm. I'll post pics of the new couple...

I forgot what that looked like..Thought you were in the middle of a forest fire..Or L.A. in the '80s...Or Moscow.

I often wonder how some of these fans can be so supportive of there teams. I mean we are nebraska at least we were something at one point. What has ISU ever done. Really i mean EVER. Hey remember that time when we had senica wallace and we came close to winning the big 12 north. And when i say close i mean 3rd. No offence but i wouldnt paint my van team colors to celebrate non existance. I dont care if i graduated magna ku laudi from the dam school. Even iowa fans have 1 heisman and a couple rose bowl aparences at least. Iowastate only has some bowl games. Cummon those guys should just get out of the big 12 and move Iowa to the big 12. At least they might be able to play competative.

Uhh damn. I can respect a fan of a historically bad team...it's easy to love a powerhouse but not so easy to love an Iowa St. I'm a Seattle mariners fan so I can relate to that

Yeah...that's a pretty narrow-visioned post. It's easy to be a 'fan' (and when I say fan I mean bandwagon) of a successful team. To be a fan that supports a team that is up and down....or constantly down....says a lot about the loyalty.

Oh and that's not his daily driver. There are some people out there that have cash to spend on things like a used van they paint and only use 7 weekends out of the year.
