I think i need a break

agreed, this board is no longer fun after a loss. there are way too many unreasonable and repetitive posts to filter through to find the truly good posts. i mean seriously, do the same 5-6 posters need to post about how they are frustrated with the fundamentals of the program more than once? let alone 20+ times? sure discuss problems you see but the repetitiveness is crazy annoying. and for the record, this is so much worse than last summer.
I think as soon as the repetetive poor play and fundamentals on the field lessen, so will those type of posts. Look at the posts after the MSU game and the general theme of posts was a positive. When people (fans) live and die with their team, the board is going to reflect that preceeding game until the next one is played.

It seems to me anymore there are just as many threads decrying the "negative" posters as there are threads by the negative posters.

Normally you can tell by the title thread what the content is going to be, if you don't want to read negative type comments, simply don't open the thread. Personally, I try to read them all, you never know when someone will post something that will make you think about something a little differently, and a lot of them can be down right entertaining to read.
I actually get a kick out of some the total overboard world is ending fire everyone freakouts. In a sort of sick way they help put things in perspective because, even though you may also be somewhat disgruntled, they can reveal how much more reasonable and rational you are compared to some others. CJT-Comparative justification therapy???

You should probably just take a break then broseph. I can assure you that you will see plenty more of those threads. No matter what you say, you can't stop it. HB is a very small percentage of husker fans and most likely the more radical portion of the fanbase.
HB is calm, poised & relaxed relative to Rivals. Wow....I swing by there occasionally to watch the train wreck. Oh boy, it's a hater's wet dream there.

GBR!!

I get the sense that if the internet was available in the 70's that there would have been just as many "meltdown" threads then as their are now. I remember a time when there were barfights started over NU football and its coaching. I remember a time when several people around here broke out black and yellow on Saturdays (keep in mind I'm from a town really close to the CO border). The thing to keep in perspective in all this is the fact that most people are really involved in the football program. Nearly every fm radio station around here has Husker Nightly. There will always be fans who are never appreciative of what happens on Saturday, and there will always be fans who blindly praise things that happen on Saturday. This board is made up of both and then several in the middle.
I'd bet the ranch on it. It would have been meltdown city. After two NC's? Omg.........

TO should have been fired, we didn't win the NC in 1996. Get the torches and pitchforks!

You guys joke about it but that is exactly the way it was. There was a round of it in the late 70's (Osborne can't beat Oklahoma) then in the late 80's and early 90's (Osborne can't win the big one). At the time some of that talk didn't seem all that unreasonable. But, in hindsight, I think we can all agree the steady stable path was much more conducive to building a dynasty and achieving 3 NC's in 4 years and playing for quite a few more than that. We've seen and experienced the program destruction path under Pederson. Anybody that is already on the Bo needs to go train is either too young, too stupid or both. And I don't use stupid or idiot lightly, I just don't don't know any other way to put it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when it is potentially destructive, we're also entitled, no required, to tell them so.

Thank you for your post. I'm starting to get really angry at people who are kicking our team when they're down. I'm sure no one feels as badly about that loss at Michigan than they do. Can you imagine playing your hardest, and messing up? Think about how those boys that keep dropping the ball feel? They are going to hear about those drops from their parents, their siblings, others on the team and then to have to go online (which they don't have to but they do) and hear folks insulting them and badgering them-it's just not right. SUPPORT THE TEAM! If you can't do that then look for another team. (Sorry, I'm crabby right now-It's like that old line from the movie, Network: "I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!' Sometimes I think I need a break from the board too but I'm not going to. I'm going to stay and continue to support our team. GO BIG RED!!!!)

Maybe Knapplc has been censoring everything too fast because I'm just not seeing all of this doom and gloom. I don't open every thread. Usually the interesting ones or the super vague ones because my curiosity always gets the better of me...(curse you "What if...." and "I noticed something" threads)

I don't know about the 70's, but I didn't get that feeling from the 80's and early 90's. While there were definitely some naysayers, they seemed to be a small minority. There are always going to be idiots. The challenge is knowing who the idiots are. Just because someone thinks a coach sucks, doesn't mean they are wrong. The Bill Callahan supporters bashed and said ridiculous things about the fans that thought he sucked....turns out they were right and the BC supporters had crow to eat. I'm not saying Bo sucks, but I'm saying that there is nothing wrong with legit criticism.

Cut me some slack, man. I'm not censoring anything. 99% of things that "go away" have been merged or locked due to duplication. The remainder violate board rules.

Im a husker fan and i love this board. But some of you have taken a dip off the deep end. Its easy for Badgerfan and Cy the Cyclone to make threads to make us laugh and i enjoy those. But others are just plum gone insane. We just fired 2 coaches who didnt (Measure Up) and now were seriously thinking about another. This coach is bad, that coach is bad, the players arent motivated, the players are punished. Holy cow man, most of the teams in the big 10 would love to have the stats we have had the past 3 years.

Didnt we send a Heisman finalist to the NFL recentlly, how about a couple of Great strong safties and outstanding kicker. Im sure no one will lose sleep if i just take a step back, but i have a feeling that some of you are the type of fan of any team who would act the same way. The whole it doesnt work fire fire fire type. Some teams do alot with what they have and they are happy with the results. Nebraska fans seem to never be happy with what they get. And when they get what they want and they dont see results immediately its fire them and rewrite the playbook.

No not all of you feel like this, but ive read enough threads in the past 3 weeks to stop and wonder where some of you guys come up with this stuff.
The Michigan State game was the icing on the cake for me. When we man handle an opponent like that and I can still count more negative threads than positive, we have serious issues as a fan base.
Ever since I came to this board, I have always got a kick out of how deathly silent this place is after a Husker victory! It's very sad in a way. I came on here after the greatest comeback in school history thinking people would be blown away by that great game. Hell, there was barely a whisper here. Some of you don't act holier than anybody else either. I don't see many of you coming on this board to discuss anything positive, it's mostly just to drop in and say how dumb you think people are for their opinions. Other than that a lot of you never even comment on anything else. How about coming in and saying some thoughts on how to fix things, or some sort of counter to what people are saying. Not just coming on and saying " I don't have any better ideas, but what your saying is dumb".

 I keep forgetting to add this thing :sarcasm

I'd say about 50% of what I say isn't meant to be taken seriously....
You don't really love me?
i do.

now take it, take it....gooood.

I blame myself....therefore I will tell a joke:

Did you know that the tooth brush was invented at the University of Iowa? They would have called it the teeth brush but nobody had more than one...

No? Uh...how about this one:

<We're not joking about that situation here, Cy. Thanks for understanding.>

As for all the naysayers and complainers...who cares what they say. They are the same people who told me I'd never amount to anything and just look at me now....uh....

Die Naysayers! Die!
