If all the rumors are true and Callahan is vying for a huge buyout to resign...

He's only holding out for more money because he thinks there's a distinct possibility that he may not coach anything other than little league again. Look, he ruined Oakland. He ruined the Huskers. What else is there for him to ruin? Unless his buddy Norv Turner comes calling, he may likely never get a coaching gig again. He's going to need some bucks while in line for unemployment.

My phone just rang and the voice on the other end told me that Bill Callahan punched a baby and did some other mean stuff too. PM me with no insults and I'll tell you the rest.
Are you serious?
No.
Obviously.
To some.
:laughpound

If I was in his position, I'd probably do the same. But, I'm a greedy bastard.

Edit: refering to holding out for more money... not punching babies.

If this is true, it only goes to prove that BC and company are in it for the money, not for the kids as he so proclaims.

My personal belief is that BC never gave a crap about the tradition at Nebraska, and takes all of the fans of the Huskers as complete idiots. And that thinking has spread to kids like McKeon, who goes around shooting off his mouth about how he is so much better than former Huskers...when he can't do crap on the field. This type of behavior from a few on this team has really turned my stomach and made me sick.

I have been a fan of the Huskers since I can remember remembering anything... I remember on Saturdays growing up in Harvard how everything would come to a stand still while the game was on the radio or tv. We are coming really close to losing that feeling for this team, and it is about time for someone at the university to take notice. They have not only let the coaching staff ruin this team, but in the past have allowed the boosters to influence decisions that were "anti-fan" and "pro-booster", especially when it came to stadium improvements. Their money is appreciated, don't get me wrong, but it would be nice to see more seating for the average fan. I have to wonder, for each additional seat that was actually added to the stadium during the last up-grade, what was the cost if divided by the whole amount that it cost to do the upgrades?

The days when Nebraska football meant so much to this state is coming to an end, I am afraid. That saddens me greatly. It has become big business and politics. So, I am very skeptical when BC says he is here for the kids. More likely, he is here to rake in what ever money he can before he totally ruins what is left of this program.

It's all about getting the most out of the situation but it's not about him thinking he won't coach again.

FWIW according to some NFL pundits and various "in the know' bloggers, Callahan has already had contact with the New York Giants to come in as an Offensive Coordinator should Kevin Gilbride get a head coaching job after this offseason.

SOMEBODY out there will like his style of coaching, maybe get him kinda cheap, too. Give him enough time, someone will hire him.

Or, he'll write a book.

Everyone will buy it just to see what kind of BS he puts in it.

Dude! You went to Harvard when you were a kid? :) Dang I'm jealous.

As for NU becoming big business, it's very sad. However we all had to know this was coming. We are probably 1 of the few remaining major universities that lasted as long as we did b4 becoming big business. Perhaps that's why they asked TO to take over. He might be able to shed some of that big business mentality. However I believe whoever taes over next will be forced to go that route.

Are you kidding me? This guy will have a NFL job next year. He isn't resigning because if he does he doesn't get $3,125,000. Sorry I would hold out as well so would every single one of you people saying how much of tool he is for doing it. $3,125,000 is a lot of freaking money.
