Every week I get a message from a friend of mine who is a Texas fan. Says, see you at the Alamo Bowl. Is this possible?
I don't think so and you all would have to fall a few to get picked up by the Insight or Meineke. I believe the Alamo is currently Pac 12 v Big XII
Didn't we play Michigan State and Michigan there in 2003/2004? I know I went to the Michigan State game at the Alamo bowl
Mich was 2005. I believe the conference picks were changed with realignment.
Yep

Pretty sure it isn't based on records in the standings either. It a selection process. Just like the the process last year that ended with NU getting screwed like an overpaid hooker and ended up in San DIego.

As long as NU wins out/has a very competitve record with other B1G top tier teams, along with the travel reputation, I think NU will end up somewhere very warm at the start of the year.

Yea they don't go straight down the conference standings and say "ok 1 2 3 etc" They pick the teams that'll make them money and matchup well, NU will do that so they'll be picked as highly as possible.

Due to the NU fanbase and the huge draw that your crowds bring I would almost assure you that barring a 1-3 finish that you are headed to the Outback or Capital One Bowl. The rankings really don't mean much in regards to what teams the bowl wants.

If that is true then NU will be playing on Jan 2 at 1:00 since both games start at the same time.
