If you could go back in time.........

I would say the 09 BCG but...the officials would probably just keep adding a second making it tough to go back in time.

The 06 loss to Texas and then the loss to TTU in 05/06? Those two games the teams played well only to the lose the game on the last plays of the game.

Dating myself here... 1978 Missouri.

Oz had just beaten OU for the first time in a very physical game in Lincoln.

Defense was gassed and had to go up against the not-oft-seen Veer of Mizzou with Kellen Winslow and James Wilder.

Not even a then-school record performance by NU RB Rick Berns (235 yards or something) could save the day.

The loss knocked us out of the #1 rank, forced a share of the Big 8 title with OU AND set up a rematch with OU in the Orange Bowl.

Had we won, we probably would've won the MNC.

:nutz

Second-place would be vs Miami in '84.

This is tough....changing some of the losses could have changed the history of what the Huskers became. The '84 Orange Bowl seems to top my list, but I really feel that TO might not have stayed as long as he did (not sure why, but anyways). The '01 Miami game was very tough b/c they embarrassed the Huskers and proved the point that they did not belong in that game.

Well I guess this definitely counts as a lose but its not a game. I am going to say if I could go back in time to change something it would be the hire of Callahan. :dunno

I would tread lightly with this thread guys.

Time travel is serious business, and while its fun to say what we could or could change about football, I don't think its anything to joke about.

I know a buddy of mine named Marty would agree with you. He thought it would be a tits idea to steal a sports result book from the future and make a ton of money, but of course that cockwad Biff got ahold of it and he got rich and married his mom. It took FOREVER to try and unring that bell. For some reason he ended up on a train. You can see Marty on TV every now and again, he's still shaking over the expierience.

I'm going with this year's ISU game. Never seen a game like that in all my time watching college football. That really was an anomaly for the team (for any team, I'd say) and I'm pretty sure I'll never see another game like it again. Once in a century.

The 2006 Texas game because I was there. There are a lot of games with much higher stakes, but I wasn't at those. I remember waking up on Sunday morning after that game and asking myself, did we win or lose that game? Dammit we lost!!

How about Texas 2009. <_< I think my wife's ears are still ringing from me screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" :o

I sure as heck hope I never have to watch a game like that again, unless it is the Blackshirts causing 8 TO's.

i would say the virginia tech game for two reasons:

1. i was there and it was the worst feeling ever leaving lane stadium.

2. we would have had all the confidence in the world to take on everyone from then on.
