I'll ask again, Will Nathan Gerry make all league honors?

And to think if Alexander had not got suspended he would not have gotten as many game reps this season.
Or that we wasted a year with him being forced into a linebacker role.............
I'd say it was far from a waste. Very thin at LB last year and pretty set at safety. Nate had said it, Bo said it as well, last year at LB helped his performance at safety this year immensely.
That's a fair point. And, I'm sure his overall understanding of the D was enhanced by his time there.

But, I'd also point out that we are probably just as thin at LB this year.........And if his natural position IS safety, it's hard to calculate just how much another year there might have increased his impact this year.

Hard to quantify and equally hard to argue.

Kurtis Drummon (Sparty), Nathan Gerry and Landon Feichter (Turdue). All-B1G will likely be two of these three. The other two are seniors. That shouldn't matter, but the way things work, it just might.
The other too are studs, I wouldn't complain if they were ahead of Gerry.

he still makes week.a lot of mistakes and blown coverages......maybe next year

Dude had 15 tackles today and a pick.

But he can be high risk, high reward as he got burned on the little 5 yard out route for a TD
he makes lot of mistakes, maybe next year.

Give him a break. He had a great year and it was his first year starting at safety in college.

He's a keeper. As mentioned, still males mistakes but its his first year at safety. Plays fast and athletic.

Well, I promised I'd use the "I told you so" card when being lambasted for suggesting he belongs at Safety.

I told you so.

I understand the theory in trying him at LB. In terms of quality weight he was the same size as our LB-recruits, but hands-down faster. Thought he could be a sideline-to-sideline Lavonte type, but that just isn't his natural position. Kid could be one of our best safeties ever when all is said and done.

Gerrys move to "linebacker" was a little blown out of proportion. He was more of a glorified dime back to be used against spread teams. It was a result of having such a young group defensively and the staff not yet having a grasp of the best personnel groupings. Our first game was against a sophisticated spread offense. We beeded speed. Gerry also saw action as a *backer* against UCLA and Purdue. The only real spread spread teams we played.
