His numbers look good. Speed is really overrated for safeties. It certainly doesn't hurt, but football intelligence/instincts are what separate good safeties from bad safeties. His size and vert look good and if he really is in the 4.5 range, that is plenty. Any faster and you generally end up at corner.What makes you say that? He looks good . . . but what makes you think he is THAT good? It probably doesn't hurt that Illinois is a mess right now and the Zooker might not be around next year. One wouldn't think grades would be an issue for a kid that has an offer from Stanford.
