If this kids grades are good then he will be the very best player in the NU class if he decides to play at NU. I would go as far as to say that he would be the very best player in almost any class in the nation.

What makes you say that? He looks good . . . but what makes you think he is THAT good? (I think rivals has him as a 4 star and the 17th best safety. . . and his measurables are decent.)

His numbers look good. Speed is really overrated for safeties. It certainly doesn't hurt, but football intelligence/instincts are what separate good safeties from bad safeties. His size and vert look good and if he really is in the 4.5 range, that is plenty. Any faster and you generally end up at corner.

It probably doesn't hurt that Illinois is a mess right now and the Zooker might not be around next year. One wouldn't think grades would be an issue for a kid that has an offer from Stanford.
