I'm in a predicament...

So I've been interviewing at a few places around town, because I never felt as though the people ahead of me would leave my company, leaving me no room to grow.

Unexpectedly, one of my bosses resigned this week, and I was given a raise/promotion and now have no desire to leave my place of work...

Do I just politely email the people I've been interviewing with and tell them that I don't want to seek out the position anymore because an unforeseen opportunity has arisen, or do I continue with the interviewing process?

I just don't want to burn any bridges or piss anyone off.

Help please?

I do a fair amount of hiring, and especailly in today's economy, you tend to get a good number of qualified candidates. I appreciate it when someone calls and says that they would like to be removed from consideration; it simplifies things and is infinitely preferrable to having them turn down an actual offer. And yes, tell them why - they'll also appreciate knowing it wasn't an issue with the job or the company.

+1. Thanks AR, I was pretty sure that's was the right thing to do, I just wanted to make sure before I went through with it.
