"Cross and Marrow" has a "Skull and Crossbones" kind of ring to it.I can't wait to see the wake of crushed skulls Cross and Marrow leave in their path.

He is absolutely not as fast as Alexander, as others have said maybe he will make up for that with balance in the open field.Cross is built a bit like Dan Alexander. I'll bet he's not as fast though.
When I was watching some highlight reels I had the same thought about his speed. Not that you need a guy his size to run like the wind, but something to watch. What I liked about Cross is that he's that big back that all good running teams seem to have these days. Better feet than you'd think. Excellent vision. Good patience. Seems to run hard. Tough to tackle. Actually, to be honest, he cuts better that I would have thought, too.
So again, I liked him and suggested him for a 4th star. However, it was determined as a group that he really isn't all that fast, so that was one thing. Of course, I'm thinking, neither is Marcus Lattimore. In the end, I could see the argument that he will have to improve his speed and how quickly he reaches top-end speed. It's not just how fast you are, how how soon you can reach that top speed. And though his film is very good, that is something that stands out. He also isn't as shifty as many of the 4-star guys. Of course, since he's bigger, that makes sense.
Now, the next step is to get his full-season highlights, and start doing more comparisons with the guys just above and just below him. I want us to be right about this. Fair is the key thing. For better or worse, let's be fair.
So while I'm sure many of you aren't happy, that's what went into it. I will say, Cross is ahead of some excellent RBs.

I would take this over blazing speed. Will be nice to see NU have some one in the backfield who can run over some guys. Getting planted in the open field by a RB tends to make them a little slower in run support. Not a bad thing when teams will stack the box until we can develop a passing attack.if he can make some yardage into the secondary and knock some safeties on their asses, occasionally, that will work too.
Neither is Rex but his tenacity to get the extra yardage after he's hit is what separates him from the others IMO. Hopefully Cross will be the same way.He is absolutely not as fast as Alexander, as others have said maybe he will make up for that with balance in the open field.Cross is built a bit like Dan Alexander.
