Impact on Recruiting

Obviously there is a small amount of posters on here that are negative all the time. I think the board as a whole is a pretty positive one, but we all know the defense needs to step it up. I would think the crowd itself would have more impact on the recruit than the board. So don't boo!!!! ;)

I think recruits probably have better things to do then sit and read our banter. IF they do, it would be on a recruiting site like rivals, where the conversations would be more about them than the team right now. I doubt any recruits are on HuskerBoard, because it's not primarily directed at recruiting.
VERY VERY wrong.

A while back Will Henry( or a real good impostor ) was posting here sparingly.

I do believe it was him but I could be wrong.

Time constraints would make it difficult for a potential recruit to lurk IMO.

Agreed. The booing is a major impact, likely more than the internet banter. But we as fans control both. We can choose to boo or not. We can choose to post in a civil and balanced manner or not. When we boo and when post inappropriately we hurt the team, the school and recruiting. To what extent? Unknown. Is it likely significant? Probably. Whether it is or not, we still should never boo and any criticism should be of coaches (who are paid, who are accountable) and not of students (players), who are not paid and are not accountable to us (no matter what you say, these kids owe you and I nothing). Even then, the criticisms should be constructive not personal and not derogatory --- any such derogatory, personally insulting posting makes "the greatest fans in the world" look like all the others --- and that is not Nebraska.

I don't think the message boards and the fans that make the recruits not want to go there, its the sh**ty way the team is playing and the sh**ty coaches they have make them not want to play for them.

Tell that to AJ Wallace.

IIRC, there was a recruit who did not go to FSU this year based on alot of things moderators from a message board were saying about him. None of which were pleasant.
