Independence Bowl

Because right now, we are not consistent on the road at all. The Alamo was a "home game" ask the UM players if they had trouble hearing the play being called. :thumbs

And #16 had the game of his life.

Not so fast my friend...Mizzou is making a comeback. :thumbs

I am going for the Tigers BTW...TD! 28-28. Gotta support your conference bubbas.

:thumbs

it looks like they are going to come back. if Steve Spurrier wasnt the coach of SC then i would be rooting for them to win.

MU just tied it up

Spurrier is showing his skills against another Big 8 team. :dumdum

Personal foul and an unsportsman like conduct call against the Gamecocks. :smokin

Mizzou just kicked a 50yd Field Goal to take the lead 31-28..... Now they're looking like what we got hit with

all tied up with 4 minutes left. Still would like to see Nebraska play some of their earlier losses today.

To answer the original question, how could we lose to these guys, you need look no further than the man behind center.

Brad Smith is an exceptional athlete and when he is given the oportunity to shine, he usually does.

The only game Missou has won that I can think wasn't primarily due to Brad Smith was the ISU game this year, other than that for the last four years, as Brad Smith goes, so go the Missouri Tigers.

So, Big Time congrats to KU, Mizzou, OU, and Nebraska for winning their bowls and even CU for keeping their game a lot closer than i certainly thought they could. as was said, the Big 12 is 4-1 but could fall to 4-4 with the matchups left.

The Big 10 is 0-3. with UM, NW, Minnesota losing so far.

gee, you don't think they might be a little overrated do ya? the Big 10, overrated? naaahhh.

though honestly, UCLA looked like the overrated team vs NW.

Pac-10 is 3-1...? with the one L being Oregon.

Big East is 0-1 (aSu over Rutgers)

IF LSU holds up vs Miami, the ACC would be 3-2.

the site i used had Minnesota as a winner over UVA so hopefully the other scores were accurate.

as for Mizzou. Smith has had some weird mojo at home. 2003 and 2005 he played great vs Nebraska. but in Lincoln in 04 he was dead in the water- and that was against a defense that looked very confused and uninspired for most of the year.

I just got back from Shreveport myself. It was unreal. First of all, Mizzou fans were easily outnumbered 3-to-1 by South Carolina and LSU fans. Secondly, after falling behind 21-0, I was about to just sit down and hang my head.

Then the Brad came.

There is no other explanation for it: he just went off. 435 total yards. 4 touchdowns. He was a one man team.

Brad Smith truly shined in his finale as a Missouri Tiger, and I can truly say that he will be sorely missed.

However, the future looks bright. Chase Daniel is going to be a solid quarterback for us, we have a couple of the best young tight ends in football in Coffman and Rucker, and the defense shouldn't take too big of a hit.

As for how Mizzou could beat Nebraska, that's easy: Brad Smith. When Brad Smith is Brad Smith, Missouri could beat anybody. When he wasn't, we struggled, and we put the burden on others' shoulders who couldn't necessarily carry it as well.

As for the Big XII North, I don't think it is necessarily really bad. I think that this and last year, it has been a collection of very evenly matched mediocre teams. Someone is going to step up and take command of the conference, no doubt, in the next couple years. Who will it be? Only time will tell.

Not Missouri

Before bowl season, i would have fully agreed with that. but you have to admit these "mediocre" teams ain't doing too bad in the bowl games!

again, major congrats to Mizzou. I was glad to see them chalk up another win for the Big 12 North.

It also may be the last time we see Smith as a QB before the NFL tries to change his position. <_< if they do, hopefully whatever NFL team will be smart enough to at least keep him on the offensive side of the ball.
