These are certainly interesting stats.
The one challenge that other state have like Texas, Missouri and Colorado have are professional sports teams to compete with. Not to take anything away from what Nebraska has accomplished, but I do think it is easier to get attendance and support for your team when you aren't competing any professional sports teams in your state. Here at Mizzou we are in a relatively rural area of the state. We have trouble getting people from St. Louis and Kansas City to drive in for games because they go to professional baseball games on Saturdays and professional football games on Sundays.
I really dont buy into that theory. the majority of the nebraskas population easily within driving distance of Kansas city. thats why I'm a chiefs fan and a royals fan. I could drive from the house that I grew up in to the sports complex in KC in a little under 2 hours. I've been to way more chiefs games then NU games and I would say if anything I am at least as much a chiefs fan as NU. and I would say many many nebraska fans are. thats why the cheifs are on numerous radio stations up here.
